After you have triggered the Accounting System Export, it goes through several automated phases. The current status is visible to you at any time in the Accounting tab of your campaign and provides information on whether the process was successful or where an error occurred.

Overview of the Most Important Statuses

You will primarily see the following statuses in the overview area of your export:

  • PENDING:

The export was successfully triggered. Mercury is collecting all necessary data (Plan Items, Metrics) and has just sent the request to your external Accounting System. Wait for the status to change.

  • GENERATED:

Your external Accounting System has successfully sent the completed CSV file with the export data back to Mercury. The data is now being stored in Mercury.

  • COMPLETED:

The entire export process is successfully finished. The data is stored and can be processed or downloaded from the overview area if necessary.

  • FAILURE:

The export has failed. This is usually due to a connection issue, a data error, or a problem in the external Accounting System. You need to take action.

What to do if the Status is FAILURE?

If the export assumes the FAILURE status, your Accounting System has sent a list of error messages (instead of the CSV data) back to Mercury.

Common causes for a failure include:

  • Technical Issue:

The secure Token has expired (validity of 1 month) or could not be validated.

  • Format or Size Issue:

The generated CSV file is too large or does not meet the required format specifications (e.g., UTF-8 encoding).

  • Data Issue in the External System:

Your Accounting System could not generate the CSV because necessary master data (such as a cost center) is missing in your system.

Procedure in Case of Errors:

In case of a FAILURE status, immediately forward the displayed Export ID and the detailed error messages to the MMT Support or your internal IT department. If a logfile CSV was sent back by the Accounting System, you aid the root cause analysis by providing it as well.
