While the assets in the Asset Library are uploaded and tracked in Mercury, you have to configure the asset in the AdSlot as an ad at least once when you use it for the first time.

As part of the configuration, the asset is linked with the information relevant for the AdServer, such as the Ad Name and the Target URL, among other things.

  1. To do this, open the AdSlot of an AdSchedule for which you want to create a new Ad.

  2. Click on the "Create Ad" button in the "Ad Library" section.

  3. Select whether you want to create an "Image Ad" or an "HTML5 Ad":
    1. Image Ad
The following content must be entered:
      1. Ad Name

      2. Creative Name (GCM only)

      3. File: Selection of the asset from the Asset Library. Only those matching the AdSchedule are displayed (type & format).

      4. Target URL: URL to which the ad is to link later.

      5. Set background colour for ad (optional): only for physical ads, can optionally be set by the marketer.

Tip: Start by selecting the file. Mercury will then automatically enter an Ad Name and - for GCM - also the Creative Name.

    2. HTML5 Ad
The following content must be entered:
      1. Ad Name

      2. Creative Name (only for GCM)

      3. File: Selection of the asset from the Asset Library. Only those matching the AdSchedule are displayed (type & format).

      4. Variable & Target URL: URL to which the ad is to link later on
        1. Variable: Optionally customisable
        2. You can add further target URLs via the Add button.

      5. Set background colour for ad (optional): only for physical ad media, can optionally be set by the marketer

Tip: Start by selecting the file. Mercury will then automatically enter an Ad Name and - for GCM - also the Creative Name.

  4. Click on the "Ad" button at the bottom right to create the ad.

  5. The ad you have just created is now in the "Available Ads" section. By clicking on the plus symbol on the right, you can now assign it to your AdSlot.
