You use the Reach Planning submenu whenever you want Mercury to display cross-campaign performance values such as campaign net reach (absolute and in %), campaign potential, or qualified reach.

How to access Reach Planning:

  • Open the desired Campaign.
  • Ensure you are at the scenario level and not directly in the plan.
  • Click on the small triangle icon to the left of the scenario name.
  • Select the Edit option.
  • You are now in the scenario settings. In the left navigation, click on the Reach Planning submenu.

You can record the following content:

  • Target group potential:Enter the total potential of your target group for the campaign here.
Note: You can optionally store a potential on the placement level. This then only applies to that placement and overwrites the campaign potential. However, since the placements will then contain different potentials, please note that the performance values displayed by Mercury across the campaign may be incorrect and are only valid at the placement level.
  • Target group description: Here you can store the name or a short definition of your target group.
  • Overlap factor %: Enter the factor Mercury should use to calculate the net reach across all placements.
Formula: Sum of net reach of all placements x Overlap factor = Campaign net reach.
  • Net reach (realized): Here you can document the actual net reach realized for the campaign.
  • Share of qualified reach (SQR realized) %: Optional value for weighted reach, e.g., visibility within the target group or other types of weighting.
  • Target group share (realized) %: Enter the realized share of your target group for the overall campaign here.

Note: The values stored here form the basis for the aggregated key figures in your Reporting Center and dashboards.
