For Mercury to correctly interpret the imported conversion data from Adform, you must assign the Tracking Points to one of the seven Mercury conversion types. This is done in the Category Settings.

The assignment process in the Category

You make the assignment in the Tracking Points section at the level of the respective Category where the campaign is located. The assignment then applies to all campaigns in this Category.

Note: If you later create additional subcategories within this subcategory, with further campaigns, the Tracking Point assignment will still remain for all campaigns in this first subcategory.

  1. Wait for the Import

Ensure that the campaign has started and conversions are being recorded in the Adserver (Adform). Mercury only imports the Tracking Points from this point onwards and only then knows which Tracking Points exist.

  2. Navigate to Settings

Open the Category Settings of the Category, generally (see above) where your campaign is located.

  3. Open Tracking Points

Navigate to the Tracking Points menu item (You need a special permission to open and edit this item).

  4. Perform the Assignment

In the displayed list of imported Tracking Points, select the appropriate Mercury Conversion Type using the dropdown field for all relevant Tracking Point entries.

Important notes on the assignment logic

  • Translation of Adform data: Tracking Points in Adform often have a specific name with a description (e.g., A1234: Bestandskunde / existing customer). By assigning it in Mercury, you translate this name into one of the seven standardized types (e.g., Order). To stick to the example, this means that the Orders in Mercury then correspond to the number of your conversions via the existing customers.
  • Accumulated results: You can assign several different Tracking Points from Adform (e.g., the Tracking Point for new customers and the one for existing customers) to the same Mercury Conversion Type (e.g., Order). The accumulated result of these Tracking Points is then displayed on the plan line in Mercury as the total number of Orders.
