When must I not set Line Items with the same Ad Server Placement ID to externally approved?

Setting Plan Items to externally approved can fail if there is an overlap of Run Times for Plan Items with the same Ad Server Placement ID.

Why is the approval blocked?

Plan Items with the same Ad Server Placement ID must not have overlapping run times. If this is the case (even across different campaigns), Mercury cannot uniquely assign the imported data to the correct Plan Item during the Data Import.

How do I fix this error?

To successfully set the Plan Item to externally approved, you have two options:

• Adjust the Run Time: Change the Run Time of the Plan Items so that they no longer overlap.
• Change the Ad Server Placement ID: If the Run Times are correct and must overlap, you must set a new, different Ad Server Placement ID on one of the two Plan Items.

What happens next?

After you have made one of the corrections mentioned above, you can set the Plan Item to externally approved and continue working as usual.
