Reporting Presets (or Presets for short) are a central feature used to define which realized data from which technical systems should be imported into your Media Plan. They represent your specific Single-Source of Truth for imported data.
The Function of Reporting Presets
Reporting Presets help Mercury understand which metrics should be imported onto which Plan Line in your Media Plan. This is important because Mercury can only display realized (imported) data if:
- You assign a Reporting Preset to a Plan Line.
- The Plan Line Sync is active and you are working with AdServer Placement IDs.
Good to know:
- Only the metrics included in the Reporting Preset will be imported into your campaign and will be visible later on the Plan Line.
- It is possible to import data (metrics) from different systems within one Preset. For example: Impressions come from Facebook, but Clicks come from Adform.
- Even without Reporting Presets, you can manually enter realized values on a Plan Line at any time. In this case, note that you should turn off the automatic synchronization (Sync).
Important Requirements
To be able to use Reporting Presets, the following steps must be completed beforehand:
- Data Connection: A Data Connection (authentication) to the technical system must be created in the Data Integrations.
- Data Pipeline: A Data Pipeline (when, which data, where, for which period) to this technical system must be created in the Data Integrations.
Therefore, make sure you have completed this in the Data Integrations first.
