A Proposal is always created from an existing Proposal Template. The process is quick and allows for immediate adjustment to the customer briefing.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Navigate to the Proposal Templates menu in Inventory Management.
- Find the desired Proposal Template in the table.
- Click the Plus-in-a-Circle Icon in the Actions column.
- A window opens where you must decide how you want to offer the Proposal:
- Campaign
- Company (Pool)
- Category
- Select the Campaign tab and enter the name of the campaign in the search bar to which you want to offer the Proposal.
- Then click Create Proposal for Campaign.
- Mercury now creates the Proposal and opens the Proposal detail overview. This is structured as follows:
- Proposal Header: Proposal ID / Storage path of the Campaign / Flight date of the Proposal / Status of the Proposal / Assigned Inventory Labels
- Details (Proposal Details / Selling Information): Basic data such as Marketer, Ad Carrier, Placement, Ad Format, Volume, Cost, and Price
- Buy Items (Buying Information): Tabular listing of all Buy Items
- Finalize and Release Proposal:
- The Proposal automatically includes all data from the template. Click Edit to supplement briefing-relevant information (e.g., target group, flight date, or volume).
- Once you have recorded all relevant information, click Release. From this moment, the campaign manager will find the Proposal in the Proposals Tab of their Campaign. The status now shows "released."
Note: You can retract a released Proposal as long as it has not been adopted into the plan. After that, the Retract button is no longer visible. If the campaign manager deletes the Proposal from the plan, you can retract it again.
Note 2: A campaign manager can only include a Proposal in the campaign plan once – duplication is not possible.
- Optional: Finalize Buy Plan:
- If your Proposal was created from a Proposal Template based on an Inventory Item, Mercury automatically adds a copy of it to the Proposal. From this moment, we refer to it as a Buy Item.
- If the template was not created from an Inventory Item, the area remains empty.
- Via Add from Inventory, you can add new Buy Items at any time.
- If your Proposal contains Buy Items, you can supplement them with briefing-relevant information (e.g., flight dates, volumes, etc.). Ensure that all Items are complete, as they map your internal Media Plan.
- In the "Actions" column, you can remove Buy Items (trash can), edit them (paper with pen), or view Logfiles (list icon).
Note: Buy Items can be added, changed, or removed at any time before or after release. They are only visible in Inventory Management and not in the Campaign.
Note 2: Buy Items can also be viewed and edited in other places. More information can be found in the Knowledge Base in the Buy Items section.
