No, in most cases, you do not have to manually restart the export immediately. Mercury is designed to automatically overcome temporary interruptions in the connection to your external Accounting System.
Automatic Restart (Retry Logic)
If your Accounting System reports a temporary conflict to Mercury (status code 409), for instance, because it is briefly overloaded, the following happens:
- Automatic Attempt: Mercury does not stop the process but automatically schedules a re-attempt of the transmission.
- Maximum Attempts: The system automatically tries the submission up to 25 times at regular, increasing intervals.
- Goal: This "Retry Logic" ensures that short-term system outages or server issues do not permanently prevent the export.
When do I have to intervene?
You only need to take action if the export enters a definitive error status and does not change:
- Wait: Allow the automatic retry mechanism sufficient time (several hours) to complete the transmission on its own.
- FAILURE Status: Only if the status changes to a permanent FAILURE is manual intervention (or notifying support) necessary. This indicates a deeper issue, such as an incorrect configuration or missing data in the external system.
Tip:In case of an error, always check first whether the status is still PENDING, as this indicates Mercury's active retry attempts.
