Once a plan item has reached the "Booking requested," "Booking declined," or "Booking accepted" status, this is an irreversible action in Mercury. These plan items cannot be reverted to a previous status or deleted. Instead, if necessary, they can be marked as irrelevant using the "Cancel" function.
This strict separation is a deliberate step to ensure clean and traceable documentation of your bookings. The system prevents important booking information from being accidentally deleted or having its status reverted to an earlier phase, which might have already been relevant in exchanges with third parties (e.g., publishers).
Outlook: The Rolling Approval Process
To make the workflow in Mercury even more transparent and secure, we are currently working on the "rolling approval process." In the future, this process will ensure that the status of an already approved or booked plan item is automatically reverted to an earlier stage in the workflow as soon as certain approval-relevant changes are made (e.g., a budget adjustment).
The goal is to ensure that every important change requiring a new approval also triggers a new approval. This process is part of a larger vision to enable future automations and optimize the data foundation for your projects.
