Reporting Presets are created in the Settings of a category. Before you start, make sure you have created the necessary Data Connections and Data Pipelines in the Data Integrations.
Step-by-step guide to creation
Follow these steps in Mercury to create a new Preset:
- Navigate to the category (Root or subcategory) where the Preset should be available.
- In the Settings menu, open the Reporting Presets option.
- Click the button Create Reporting Preset in the upper right corner.
- A window will open:
- First, enter a Name for your Preset.
- Then click on Add value to create a new metric line.
- Now define each metric line individually:
- Select the desired Metric (e.g., Impressions).
- Select the Technical System from which this metric should be imported (e.g., Adform).
- Select the Connection that Mercury should use for the import.
- For a few systems, you must also select the User that is used for the import.
- Repeat Step 5 for all metrics you want to import via this Preset.
- Click Save.
Note: If the Save button is greyed out, you have not yet entered all required characteristics for at least one metric.
What to consider when creating
- You can define metrics from different technical systems in a single Preset (e.g., Impressions from Facebook, Clicks from Adform).
- Reporting Presets are inherited to lower levels. This means a Preset created in an upper category is automatically available in the underlying categories and campaigns.
- When naming the Preset, make sure you use a clear taxonomy so that it is immediately obvious which Preset to select in the Media Plan.
