Mercury supports different types of fees, including:
Percentage-based fees
These are defined in the category settings. See also How do I create a new fee model?
Fee based on media costs
The fee based on media costs uses the media costs calculated for a plan line and multiplies them by the contractually agreed fee rate. Depending on the contractual agreement, discounts, AE and cash discounts may be deducted beforehand.
Fee based on natural discounts
The fee based on natural discounts uses the monetary value of the granted natural discounts and multiplies it by the contractually agreed fee rate. Depending on the contractual agreement, discounts, AE and cash discounts may be deducted beforehand.
Fee based on AT-eligible discounts
The fee based on AT-eligible discounts uses the monetary value of granted discounts that are marked as AT-eligible. AT-eligible discounts are off-tariff discounts marked as AT-eligible in the plan line.
The base value is multiplied by the contractually agreed fee rate. Depending on the agreement, AE and cash discounts may be deducted.
Volume-based fees
Volume-based fees are entered directly on the plan line (in the inspector panel) and can be calculated based on different metrics:
Volume-based fees on ad impressions
(calculation basis: CPM)Volume-based fees on clicks
(calculation basis: CPC)Volume-based fees on conversions
(calculation basis: CPConversion)
Fixed fees
These are entered directly on the plan line or on the campaign scenario.
Fixed fee (plan lines)
The fixed fee on plan lines is a predefined value (planned = actual) that is stored on a plan line. During setup, a custom fee label and an “Agency Fee Type” can be selected.
Fixed fee (campaigns)
The fixed fee on campaigns is a predefined value (planned = actual) that is stored on a scenario. A custom name and an “Agency Fee Type” can also be defined. This fee has no direct relation to the campaign’s plan lines and is therefore not included in fixed or total fees or overarching cost components within the planning view. However, it appears as a separate entry in the Excel media plan export on the second tab “Total costs”.
