Mercury supports various types of royalties, including

Percentage-based Agency fees

Are stored in the category settings, see "How do I create a new fee model?":

Agency fees on media cost

Agency fees on media cost are calculated by multiplying the media cost determined for a plan item by the agreed fee rate. Depending on the contractual agreement, discounts, agency commission and cash discounts are deducted beforehand.

Agency fees on discount-in-kind

Agency fees on discount-in-kind are calculated by multiplying the monetary value of the granted discount-in-kind by the contractually stipulated fee rate. Depending on the contractual agreement, discounts, agency commission and cash discounts are deducted beforehand.

Agency fees on discounts qualifying as non-standards discounts

Agency fees on discounts qualifying as non-standard discounts are calculated based on the monetary value of granted discounts qualifying as non-standard discounts. Discounts qualifying as non-standard discounts are defined as discounts marked non-standard in the plan item.

The original value is multiplied by the contractually stipulated fee rate. Agency commission and cash discounts are deducted as contractually agreed.

Volume-based Agency fees

Volume fees are recorded directly on the plan item (in the inspector panel) and can be calculated on various bases:

  • Volume fees on ad impressions
    (basis of the calculation: CpM)
  • Volume fees on clicks
    (basis of the calculation: CpC)
  • Volume fees on conversions
    (Basis of calculation: CpConversion)

Fixed Agency fees

Are entered directly on the plan item or on the campaign scenario:

Fixed fee (on plan items)

The fixed fee on plan items is a fixed defined value (plan = actual), which is stored on a plan item. It is also possible to assign an individual fee designation and select an "Agency Fee Type" when entering the fee.

Fixed fee (on campaigns)

The fixed fee on campaigns is a fixed defined value (plan = actual), which is stored in a scenario. When entering it, it is also possible to assign an individual name and select an "Agency Fee Type". A fee stored here has no direct reference to the plan items of the campaign, which is why it is not listed in the fixed or total fee or the overarching cost modules within the planning. However, it can be found in the Excel export of the media plan on the second tab "Total costs" as a separate entry.
