To give a team member access to a specific category (and all its subcategories), you need to assign one or more category roles to that person. Here’s how:

Important Note: Before you start, make sure the person you want to grant access to has already been created as a user in Mercury.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Navigate to the category for which you want to grant access.
  2. Click the gear icon ⚙️ next to the category name to open the settings.
  3. In the menu on the left, select "Role management".
  4. You will now see a list of all available roles. Find the role you want to assign (e.g., "Planner" or "Reader").
  5. Click the plus icon (+) next to the role name to add a user.
  6. A search window will open. Search for and select the person you want to add.
  7. Done! The person now has the assigned role and therefore has access to this and all subordinate categories. You can also assign multiple roles to a person if needed.

Tip: If you have many users, you can simply start typing in the search window to filter the list and find the right person faster.
