To give a team member access to a specific category (and all its subcategories), you need to assign one or more category roles to that person. Here’s how:
Important Note: Before you start, make sure the person you want to grant access to has already been created as a user in Mercury.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Navigate to the category for which you want to grant access.
- Click the gear icon ⚙️ next to the category name to open the settings.
- In the menu on the left, select "Role management".
- You will now see a list of all available roles. Find the role you want to assign (e.g., "Planner" or "Reader").
- Click the plus icon (+) next to the role name to add a user.
- A search window will open. Search for and select the person you want to add.
- Done! The person now has the assigned role and therefore has access to this and all subordinate categories. You can also assign multiple roles to a person if needed.
Tip: If you have many users, you can simply start typing in the search window to filter the list and find the right person faster.
