Managing media

This article describes how to manage media.

Introduction

Mercury Media uses a central publisher management tool to store important publisher data. It can also be used to create, edit and delete media. Each medium is assigned to a publisher.

This ensures that media are available for planning in a standardized format.

In some cases, multiple publishers may offer the same medium. When this happens, the medium appears more than once in Mercury Media.

In addition to managing media in the central publisher management tool, you can also directly create media by using the relevant form when creating offers or plan items.

Media can only be created by authorized users. Click here for more information on managing users.

Mediaservice Wasmuth

Mediaservice Wasmuth (MSW) provides market data on publishers, advertising media, placements, creatives, etc., for a number of markets that can be integrated into Mercury Media.

Click here for more information about Mediaservice Wasmuth.

When Mercury Media contains Wasmuth data, a large amount of inventory data is directly available.

The only difference between Wasmuth data and data entered into the system by users is that Wasmuth data cannot be changed or deleted.

Important information that is missing or incorrect in the Wasmuth data can be quickly added or corrected in consultation with MSW. Currently, Wasmuth data is updated every day.

Properties

Name

The name identifies a medium in the system (e.g. in media plans).

Please adhere to your company’s naming conventions (you can find them in the relevant knowledge base in the company’s documentation).

Channels

Channels are used to classify media in Mercury.

Examples of channels:

  • Apps

  • Mobile

  • Multiscreen

  • Online

  • Search

  • Social

Invoicing ID

Invoicing IDs are used to clearly identify media in external invoicing systems. The ID that has been assigned to the medium in the external invoicing system (e.g. Ad’visor) is stored here.

No invoice

When booking media without a one-to-one relationship between client booking and agency booking, such media are marked in order to inform the responsible billing department. (This may be the case for pro grammatical bookings, for example.)

Source

Media can be imported into the system from external sources (e.g. Mediaservice Wasmuth). In this case the system will automatically enter the relevant source.
