Note: To work with margins in your Mercury media plan, your tenant must be enabled for this feature. You also need the category permission "Edit buying prices".

If you want to apply margins to technical costs (such as DSP or AdServer costs), you can define a buying and a selling price for each technical component in the Technical Components Management section of your category settings. Mercury will then automatically display these values in the media plan: when you select a technical component on a plan line, the corresponding buying and selling costs will appear in the columns FORECAST/ACTUAL: Technical Costs (Buying) and FORECAST/ACTUAL: Technical Costs.

How do I enter the buying price for a technical component?

  1. Open the category settings where the technical component was created for which you want to enter the buying price (margin).
  2. Go to the Technical Components menu and search for the component you want to update.
  3. Click the edit icon (paper-with-pencil symbol).
  4. Enter the value under Buying price and make sure that the Price field contains the selling price (or leave it empty if nothing should be charged to the client).
Note: If you only enter a selling price but no buying price, Mercury will not calculate any technical buying costs.
