In a project, you can plan, approve, and version specific objectives in the Flowchart – both for the overall project and for sub-objectives, such as individual campaigns. The Objectives view helps you keep an overview of the most important KPIs and supports your workflow by allowing you to directly capture campaigns as objectives, including briefing specifications.
The objectives are displayed in a Flowchart, consisting of:
- a column with the Objectives
- adjacent bars that visualize the target values
Follow these steps to enter project objectives in Mercury:
- Navigate to the desired project in the Category Tree.
- Open the project by clicking on its name.
- Go to the Objectives submenu.
- If you are creating objectives for the first time, you will find a form where you must enter the following content:
- KPI Type: Select target metric, e.g., Budget
- KPI Value: Enter target value, e.g., 250k €
- Runtime: Define runtime
- If objectives have already been defined in the project, you will see the Flowchart View. The most important elements and functions:
- Above the Flowchart, you will find (from left to right):
- Dropdown with all created Drafts
- Version freigeben (Approve Version)
- Neuen Entwurf erstellen (Create New Draft)
- The Flowchart itself consists of two columns:
- Left Column:
Here you see all your objectives in individual rows. You can assign multiple target KPIs to each row/section (e.g., overall project). Click into a row section to open the Inspector Panel – there you can add, edit, or delete KPIs and adjust the Runtime. Using the small Plus Icon below a row, you can add or import new objective levels (e.g., Country, Channel, Marketer, or Label) or campaigns. For campaigns, you can add a Briefing (as text or file attachment) from the start. All target KPIs of the campaign are automatically displayed both in the campaign objectives and in the Plan as an Objective Monitor. - Right Column:
Each target KPI is displayed as a Bar Chart, including the recorded value on the right end.
- Left Column:
- Above the Flowchart, you will find (from left to right):
Note on Objective Display:
- For metrics whose values are summable, you will see the total value on the left in the objective column.
- For other metrics, you will find the target value directly in the corresponding bar.
- If no bar is displayed, you have not yet set a value for this Zielmetrik (Target Metric) in the Inspector Panel.
