Managing technical components

This article describes how to manage technical components in categories (to use as basis for tracking costs in the media plan).

Introduction

Technical components are used to map costs for using technical delivery and tracking systems.

Because technical systems and agreed prices may differ from client to client, components are managed at category level.

They are then available to be used by the planner or are automatically applied to newly created plan items.

If additional technical components are required in a sub-category, further components can be added to the list of components inherited from the parent category.

To reduce errors when calculating technical costs in media plans, technical components can only be managed by a limited number of users.

Technical systems (see description in this article) are a prerequisite for creating technical components.

Invoicing models

Different invoicing models are available to bill technical costs.

This invoicing model is based on a price for 1,000 impressions. For example, at a price of €1.00, 450 impressions would cost €0.45.

This invoicing model is based on a fixed price.

Percentage of costs (N/N/N)

In this invoicing model, a fixed percentage is multiplied by the value of media costs after deduction of discounts, agency commission and cash discounts.

Percentage of costs (gross)

This invoicing model is based on a fixed percentage that is multiplied by the value of costs before deductions.
